Framed Original Artwork

Skier Riding Caribou Home - 10 1/2" x 13"

I have a few framed originals up for sale in my Etsy shop!  You can check them out here.

I take great pleasure in seeking out lovely vintage frames.  I love the scalloped details on these.  I feel like they work so well with the soft, snowy illustrations.

Girl Riding Arctic Fox - 11 3/4" x 8 1/2"

I always frame my original art behind high quality, plexiglas.  So there is no fear of breakage during shipping.

Anne Thériault's Forest Commission

I'm really happy to share this new commissioned piece!  I created it for my super talented friend, Anne Thériault.  She's a writer and generally wonderful/interesting lady.  You can read her blog here.

She really liked my forest illustrations and wanted me to create something special for her business cards and website.  But she also wanted to have the framed original in the end.

The way I create my illustrations is I cut, paste and draw with pencil crayons on coloured paper pieces.  I paint the background in acrylic paint, then I figure out the final placement of the paper pieces before I paste them down.  It feels a bit like solving a puzzle or building a stage set.  And it always feels great to see it all come together in the end.

And here's Anne's framed original.  This is one of the most beautiful frame I've ever owned.  My mom found it during one of her thrifting missions.  She's the greatest at finding treasures.  This pieces measures approximately 13 3/4" x 10 1/2".

Thanks Anne, for such a great commission!

Woodrough Lodge

Woodrough Lodge
I've been living in Ontario for so many years now (11 years maybe?), I thought it was high time to create a special, Ontario cottage country dollhouse.  I wanted to include lots of the great local wildlife.  Some highlights include a moose, beavers, coyotes, red wing black birds and black bear.

I was really pleased how it all turned out matted and framed!  It's hard to tell from the photo, but the frame has nice textured bark detailing on it.

Thanks to Jesse, for taking the photo, it's so hard get a good picture of art behind glass.

Art At Cardinal Rule

Gypsy Summer - Miss Fawn Cuttington's Rustic A-frame - The Gardener

It ain't easy photographing art behind glass.  But you get the gist.

So my art will be displayed at Cardinal Rule for the next 3 months!  Jesse and I put up the show earlier this week, and I gotta say, it looks real good.  There are 10 pieces up in total.

If you're in the Toronto area, you should stop in for a brunch or dinner.

Framed Prints At Scout

I was super excited when a new gift boutique opened up real close to me on Roncesvalles.  Scout has such a great selection of cards, accessories, jewelry and household items.  I'm thrilled that, over the past few weeks, I have had a number of framed prints up among all the goodies. The owner, Leah, has been doing such a great job selling them, I'm often scrambling around trying to frame up new prints.

Each piece is unique, because I use carefully selected vintage and thrifted frames.  The artwork is sometimes reworked a little to fit the frame.

Many of the pieces shown in these photos have been sold, but I keep bringing in new ones to replace them.  If you're in Toronto, definitely stop by Scout and take a look around!

Gypsy Summer Framed Original

Lately, I've been working hard framing up a bunch of pieces.  I'll be putting them up for sale in my Etsy shop as each is completed and photographed.

Here's a new original illustration I've put up on my Etsy page, entitled Gypsy Summer.  It looks really great in the painted white, vintage frame, with lovely scalloped edged details.  The artwork is 9" x 12" and is behind unbreakable, gallery quality Plexiglas.

I had a great time cutting out and making each little flower.  Lot's a great details in this piece.

The Bouquet Framed Original

I've been adding more and more items to my Etsy shop lately (just in time for the big gift giving season!). Today I just put up my framed original of my illustration, The Bouquet.

This piece measures 9" x 12" and is framed in unbreakable, gallery quality Plexiglas.  The frame is an antique, art deco, gold toned wooden frame with lovely carved details.

Framed Prints

During the end of the summer, my art prints were hung in a great little coffee shop in Lake Country, British Columbia.  My mom did an excellent job finding old, quality frames, cutting mats and putting it all together (thanks mom!).  I'm super pleased that they got such a great response, and 10 framed prints were sold in a short 2 weeks.

This success has inspired me to contact a few, select, coffee shops and restaurants around Toronto, Ontario.  They sure do add some nice atmosphere!

My prints are also available in my etsy shop, and you can pop them into your own new or vintage frames.

Original Framed Illustrations

Arctic Synchronized Swim, 17" x 14.5"

Fermina Daza's Sunroom, 19.5" x 14.5"

Gardener, 9" x 12"

I'm really not very good at photographing my framed illustrations. They are all under glass, and I find it very tricky to get a shot without a glare from a light or window. Luckily for me, Jesse is very handy with a camera!

These pieces, as well as a number of prints, are available in my Etsy shop!
