So in early December, I took a beginner knitting course at The Knit Cafe. I had knit scarfs in the past, but I never learned to purl or to knit in a round. I had my heart set on knitting a pair of sanquhar gloves, so I worked hard and learned a whole lot.
When my papa was alive, he knit in this traditional pattern. He was born in the Sanquhar region of Scotland and I liked the idea of carrying on the family heritage.
For Christmas, I knit my dad a beautiful sanquhar scarf and my boyfriend the Duke sanquhar gloves. They worked out so well! I was very impressed with myself. And now I'm knitting a lady sized pair for my sister. Check it out!

Her Nashville Magazine Cover
Way back in April, I was contacted by Heather Pierce to illustrate the July 2009 cover of Her Nashville magazine. The theme for that month was "The Men's Issue". I had a great time doing paper cut undies and little drawn details.
